Has Sonam Kapoor ousted Deepika Padukone from Piku?

If sources are to be believed, Sonam will be sharing screenspace with Amitabh Bachchan, soon

A little birdie tells us that Shoojit Sircar is keen to rope in Sonam Kapoor in his next film titled Piku. Though there were reports that Deepika Padukone will be playing the female lead in the film, Sonam is being considered to play the female protagonist. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan.

If Sonam bags this film, the actor will have quite a few films in her kitty. TheBewakoofiyaan actor is a part of the remake of Khoobsurat and not so long time ago, she was signed in to play the female lead opposite Salman Khan in Sooraj Barjatya’s next. She’s also a part of Arbaaz Khan Productions’ Dolly Ki Doli. So here’s the interesting part.

Deepika was the forerunner for both Piku and Sooraj Barjatya’s next. However, the filmmakers roped in Ms Kapoor instead. And as far as Dolly Ki Doli is concerned, Katrina Kaif was the first choice for the film. But finally, SK bagged the film. We wonder what is so special about Sonam Kapoor that filmmakers prefer her over the top divas of B-town.
