Deepika Padukone ready to work in 'any capacity' in Zoya Akhtar's film.

Generally, the role of an assistant director (AD) comes early in the life of an
 aspiring Bollywood actor. The likes of Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, 
Sonam Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra, all worked as ADs on other stars’ films,
 before they turned actors themselves.

Deepika Padukone, who went from being a ramp model to an actor,
 however, seems willing to walk the road less taken. She is apparently
 so impressed with the script of Zoya Akhtar’s next (about a dysfunctional
 Punjabi family that goes on a luxury cruise together), that she says she wants
 to come on board in any capacity, even in a non-acting role.

When we ask Deepika about it, she concedes that the storyline has floored her.
 “I love the script so much that I am ready to work in any capacity on the film,
 including an assistant director (AD),” she says, with a smile.
 “But I don’t know if I can manage that (working as an AD).”

The film stars Deepika’s alleged love interest, Ranveer Singh, besides
 Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar and Anil Kapoor.

Has Deepika made her desire known to Zoya? “Not really… I’ve met her,
 but not talked about it (getting associated with the film),” says the actor,
 who has multiple big projects — such as Happy New Year with Shah Rukh Khan, Shoojit Sircar’s Piku with Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan, and Homi Adajania’s Finding Fanny Fernandes — coming up this year. We tried reaching Zoya for a reaction, but she told us she was “busy in a meeting”. -
